Call 905-877-8375 To the editor, I am proud to say that I recently took part in a hockey game where teams from the Halton Regional Police and Acton High School faced off against each other on Thursday, March 27. This is fast becoming an annual event. The game is organized by two Acton residents and fellow police officers Rob and Maureen Andrew. All funds raised go to Acton charities. As well, the game is to promote relations between the students and Police. With the Police winning the inaugural year and the students winning the next two, I was looking forward to a challenging game and was not disappointed. What I was most impressed with though was the support of this event from our town, from the students who played and attended, the mayor and councillors who opened up the game, to Brian Lewis who refereed. It was a fun and successful event which seems to get bigger each year. Thanks to the students for taking it easy on us and displaying class and grace in their defeat. There were no losers in this event and many winners; we have a great town. Proudly, Rick Dodds Petkoff Continued from Page 16 points, scoring 105 total. He also made it to the English Premier Hockey Leagues 1st All-Star Team. This year, he has also been Swindons leading scorer with 76 points in total, fewer points due to a shorter season. Last Saturday, March 29, the Swindon Wildcats played Milton Keynes Lightning. They won the game 2-1 in overtime, Pet- koff scoring the winning goal. This year, Petkoff is headed back to the play with the English Premier Hockey Leagues 1st All-Star Team due to his exemplary performance throughout this past season with the Swindon Wild- cats. Petkoff will come home to Acton for the summer to train and work part- time before heading back for season three with the Wildcats. Throughout the previous summer, Cana- dian teams have taken the opportunity to contact Petkoff. This is his career and he is always looking for opportunity, said Michael Petkoff, Joels father.
