The 18-year-old Acton High grad is one of almost 1,000 Canadian young people who will spend the next nine months with the Katimavik program a federal in- iative that invites youth to volunteer and complete a learning program that focuses on leadership, cultural diversity, healthy life- styles and Canadas official languages. Facing graduation, Maxwell was unsure what she wanted to do with her life until she heard about the Katimavik program at school. She knew she would enjoy the humanitarian work she and her family have worked with the homeless and she was on the executive of the school student council. I already graduated high school, but Im not sure what I want to do. I dont want to be spending the money for university when Im not totally sure.
