TUES SEPT 8 Wellington O.P.P. Report Continued from Page 1 bers beginning with the new 226 area code have been assigned since Octo- ber 2006. Some telephone carri- ers are running out of 519 area code phone numbers and are issuing new phone numbers in the Acton area with a 226 area code and some with a 929 ex- change. The CNA issues central offi ce codes 853 in Acton in blocks of 10,000 to the carriers and CAN director Glen Pilley said growth has exhausted some of those supplies. So, we added a new 226 area code over top of the 519 area code which is why they have to dial ten digits there, Pilley said in an interview last Thurs- day. It looks like carrier ran out of 853 line numbers and is getting new line numbers out of the 226 area code with a 929 exchange, Pil- ley said, adding callers from the new 226 area code have the same dialing power as those in 519. New subscribers use 929... Drinking, driving A 27-year-old Guelph Twp. Woman was arrested and faces a charge of drinking and driving with more than 80 mgs on Saturday, Aug. 8. HAIR RAISING: The current campaign to get Councillor Jon Hurst to get his locks lopped and beard shaved is really no some- thing new. His untidy look caught the eye of these OPP offi cers during the ori- ginal Terry Fox Run, which Jon has been devoted to for decades. Now the BIA has joined the recent campaign. Story on Page 13.
