While I have no dispute witht the issues regarding Site 41, I do take issue with the fact that no men- tion was made of the contribution made by broadcaster Dale Gold- hawk. Mr. Goldhawk, on his radio program on 740 AM Radio, spearheaded the campaign to unite his listeners to do everything in their power to stop the development of Site 41. He called the politicians involved to task, he spoke at meetings, he attended rallies etc. I feel very strongly that his efforts and those of his listeners played a ma- jor role in bringing this matter to the attention of the public and resulted in the moratorium being ap- proved. I, and Im sure, many of the folks in Tiny Town- ship, would like to see Mr. Goldhawk get the recognition he so rightly deserves. Shannon received a warm welcome from the members. Sunday, September 13, Sunnybrook Veterans visit to the Branch was overwhelm- ing. A warm welcome from our ladies and Branch members was given to our veterans. It would have been nice to have had a better turn- out from our ladies. Entertainment by Kent Locker was enjoyed by all in the games room. The vet- erans enjoyed a delicious meal in the Ladies Lounge overlooking the lake and also the view of the plane. Thank you to the members for making the lounge look so perfect. The veterans re- ceived gift bags from the Branch. Flowers were given to the wives of the veterans. A big thank you to Joan and Dave Maloney; thanks to all the ladies and gentle- men for making this day so very special. Sue Poulsen, our sick and social convenor is plan- ning a fall social event.
