Quite a few members to R W T E J C U G F Q W V V U U Q Y G look forward to seeing them in their new clothes at some of functions at the Centre. I am planning to visit the St. Lawrence Market on Saturday Oct. 25. There is a sign-up sheet for any- one interested. If there is enough interest we will leave the Centre at 9am and leave the market about 1 or 1:30pm. I know last time some people took ad- vantage of visiting Toronto and having lunch at one of the famous eating spots there. There is certainly a lot to see and do in To- ronto. There is also a sign-up sheet for the Gals on V J G ) Q R V T K R V Q 9 G U V G N F Heritage Village. It will be on Saturday, Dec. 6 in the evening. I understand the village is decorated for Christmas, and everyone is in costume. There is enter- tainment, and a wagon ride, but it will involve walking and might be quite cold. There is a small restaurant if you wish a hot drink or something to eat. Line dancing is on Mon- day and there is still room for more dancers. Its a great inexpensive way of getting exercise as well as enjoying the music, If you are interested drop in on Monday morning before 11:30. You should Y G C T ? The people who attended the Wednesday evening Euchre has a great time, but there is still lots of room and a warm welcome for more players. The next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7pm. The win- ners last Wednesday were lone hand Eileen Wedge; the ladies high was won jointly by Mae Milton and Marg Haring. Henry Wedge has the mans high and Rode had the low. Sixteen members en- joyed playing canasta and cribbage last Thursday morning. There were sev- eral new faces. Hopefully there will be more. If anyone is interested in playing bridge please make sure you sign up. First meeting at Mil- ton High School was on Tuesday of this week with the one for Halton Hills tonight.(Thursday, Sept 25) at Georgetown High School at 7pm. We had a record 19 hikers on Fridays hike to Scotsdale Farm. It was a beautiful Fall day, ideal for our 11/2 hour hike. Ten of our regular hik- ers were missing, so we would be quite a sight if everyone showed up. The previous week they had to cut the hike near Speyside short, due to the slippery muddy conditions and be- ing attacked by mosquitos. There are as many as 18 members enjoying the kikes some days. On a sad note, I see George Hargraves passed away last week. George was a long time member of the centre, and although he wasnt active at the Cen- tre he certainly was well known around town. He picked up the meal from Allendale for the Meals on Wheels and, helping at the Trunk Sale. I remember him and his wife at differ- ent functions in town when they were members of the St. Johns Ambulance. Our sincere condolences to his family. I am happy to tell eve- ryone that lighting does strike twice. When I was away in January my name was drawn in the 50/50 and I hadnt put my loonie in, but this week my name was drawn again and I won $143.50. My lucky week. Thank you, Gloria EVERYONE STRETCH: Jane McAllister, Heinz Rusche, and Paula Stuckey are enjoying the stretching exercises with giant elastic bands during a Restorative Pilates demonstration at the Acton Seniors Open house last week.
