THE NEW TANNERTHURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2008 7 O N T A R I O S N E W C L E A N E N E R G Y C O R R I D O R Bruce to Milton Transmission Reinforcement Project Notice of Draft EA Review and Public Information Centres Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) has initiated an Environmental Assessment Project under the Environmental Assessment Act (EA Act) to build an approximately 180-kilometre double-circuit 500,000 volt (500 kV) transmission line on a widened existing corridor connecting the Bruce Power Facility (Bruce) near Kincardine to Hydro Ones switching station in Milton (Milton). The Bruce to Milton line is one of the most important projects Hydro One currently has underway to meet Ontarios future electricity needs, by providing the necessary transmission capability to bring an additional 3000 megawatts of clean and renewable power from the Bruce area to electricity consumers. As part of the planning process for the Bruce to Milton Transmission Reinforcement Project, Hydro One is making the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Report available for a 30-day period for review by the public, First Nations, Ms, stakeholders and public agencies from September 22 to October 24, 2008. Coinciding with the release of the Draft EA Report, the third round of Public Information Centres (PICs) for the project will be held from October 6-9, 2008. After expiry of this 30-day review period, the Draft EA Report will be revised as necessary to address the comments received and it is expected that a final EA Report will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) in November 2008. The MOE will then initiate its review of the final EA Report. Public notice will be provided regarding the submission of the final EA Report to the MOE and the formal review process prescribed by the EA Act will begin. Draft EA Review Process The Draft EA Report is available on the Project website at: www.HydroOneNetworks.com/BrucetoMilton and you can obtain the report on CD by calling our toll-free Project Hotline at 1-877-345-6799.
