The late Chris Walker, a Georgetown nature enthusiast, made a significant contribution in pro- moting and building trails and trail linkages in Halton Hills and Ontario through his involvement with the Bruce Trail Association. Walker was also a member of the Towns trails committee. Council will spend $600 from its own contin- gency account to buy the recognition signage and plaques. An ad hoc cycling committee will be set up with membership appointed by the mayor to review, and possibly update, the Towns cycling plan. The committee will include members of the public as well as council. Wards 3&4 Regional Councillor Jane Fogal, an avid cyclist herself, brought forward the motion citing the increased interest in cycling and the increas- ing conflict with public on safety issues.
