- photo taken at 5507 Regional Rd. 25.
Information told to Evelyn Gillies by Lottie Garbot (Sasker), who lived on the corner farm south of Britannia Rd. and West of RR 25.
The first hydro came int the early 30's. Frist to Willmott's second to Featherstone's third to Geo. Dolby (there had to be three places to a mile to be wired). Then to Cliff Tasker across Boyne to a Buck, to C. McCoun, to Bill Devlin & then Wilbur Ford & Frank Ford.
Some houses were wired but did not get hydro until later. Lottie's dad never did have hydro.
First cars in the area:
McCann's had the 4th car in the area (I regrettably never wrote down who had the first 3). It was a McLaughlin owned by my grandfather. I can remember playing in it as a child. It just sat in the implement shed. Had cellophane windows, wooden wheel spokes, and a canvas top. - Subject(s)
