Alfred Inglehart was the oldest son (second child) of William Cyrus Inglehart and Mary Bray. He was born Jan. 15 1852, died July 19, 1940, in Burlington. On June 29, 1929, he married Mary Ellen Ford, (1865-1957, daughter of Andrew Ford and Mary Featherstone. Mary Ellen was the widow of Leslie Switzer. Mary Ellen was also the sister of David Franklin (Frank) Ford, who married Alfred's half-sister Lottie Inglehart, daughter of William Cyrus Inglehart and Eleanor McLaren.

OBITUARY: ALFRED INGLEHART, 88, BURIED AT PALERMO

Burlington, July 22 - - The funeral of Alfred Inglehart, a resident of Burlington for the past 20 years, took place today from his late residence, Brant St., to Palermo Cemetery. Mr. Inglehart, who died Friday, was in his 89th year. He had been ill a short time. Born in Halton County, the son of the late Cyrus and Mary Bray Inglehart, he was formerly engaged in extensive land transactions in Saskatchewan, later going to Winnipeg. He was a recognized authority on real estate and had resided in Burlington since his retirement. His wife, the former Mary Ellen Ford, survives, with one sister, Mrs. D. Frank Ford, of Milton and two brothers, Herbert of Palermo and John A., of Highland California. (Herbert Inglehart's papers)
