CHRISTMAS 1900 Ellis Hughes, son of James Cleaver and Jane Watson,was born December 12, 1867, Halton County, Ontario, died 14 September 1951, married 29 May 1890, Lowville, Ontario , to Annie Jane Hoey, born Abt. 1869, Kilkenny, Ireland, died November 1958 Ellis Hughes Cleaver was a King's Council. He also operated a fox farm and a mink ranch, and served Burlington as Reeve. The Globe - Toronto - Thursday, June 08, 1897. E.H. Cleaver was recommended as a member of the standing committee on Temperance for this (Methodist) Conference in Brantford. from the Canadian Champion, March 09, 1922 E.H. Cleaver, K.C., of Burlington, is home from a trip to Atlantic City, which has done him good.
