Description
This is a transcript of the text on page 5: Georgian Influences.
I would like to turn my attention now to the various items of the Tovell home which prompted me to classify it as Georgian. To begin with, the rectangular planning and gable roof of this two storey house appeared to indicate Georgian influence to me. From both front and sides there is a definite symmetrical balance about the house set off by the prominent mouldings around the door and the dental effect over the Venetian window. The windows are all double hung and similarly are symmetrically balanced. The central hallway and two chimneys which existed previously are also characteristic of Georgian styling.
The front entrance is a square opening type as opposed to the elliptical style. Rectangular side lights are found on either side of the front entrance. Raised Ionic columns project from the front façade between the door and the side lights.
This house, although old in years, appears very young and sparkling white to any passerby along Dundas Highway. The perfect balance of this Georgian style along with the diligent work of owners to care for it will probably continue to give this farm home this appearance for years to come.

Note in pen; The window panes are a Victorian style. Georgian style would have at least 8 panes. How high are the ceilings?
