Description
This picture was taken about 1903. Ruth became a teacher, married a boat captain, and pioneered in northwester Quebec among the goldfields and timber camps, where she and her husband ran a supply line, bun oat and barge in the summer and horses and sleigh or tractor and caboose in the winter. Jean became a nurse and served at Brantford General Hospital for 20 years. After her graduation in 1921, she did both hospital and private nursing.
