- This school is west of Trafalgar Rd., just north of the QEW. Lorne Skuce Public School was named in honour of Lorne P. Skuce, inspector of Halton public schools within the provincial Ministry of Education from 1938 to 1958. In 1958, he became the Superintendent of the Oakville School System, a position he held for four years before retiring from education to be the manager of the Halton and Peel Trust Company.
