This picture was taken from the slag hill on the south side of the tracks, looking over the Black Creek. The kiln on the right is the draw kiln currently being reconstructed. The windmill on the left is beside the Gowdy house (not seen) which were both demolished by the CVCA when they expropriated the land from Benno and Herb Spitzer. The mill in the centre was built on the ruins we now see at the mill pond dam. The caves are in the hill behind the windmill, at the base of which ran the Toronto Suburban Railway electric Radial line. The mill pond ran from the mill back to the fifth line. The mill had a three seat outhouse which was relocated to the Black Creek (not the same Black Creek) Pioneer Village. I love this photo.
