This article appeared in the Oakville Record on Friday, March 20th, 1942.

“These Children Helped Britain, With Contributions to the Evening Telegram’s War Victim’s Fund”
Caption reads: “Conducting a draw under the direction of their teacher, Miss Gladys McCleary, these children of S.S. No. 7, Trafalgar, raised $35 for the Evening Telegram British War Victim’s Fund. Included in the group are; Ruby Claridge, Guy Orr, Billie Bailey, David Ayres, Charlene Price, Irene Bradley, Murray Sinclair, Keith Merry, Elmer Bailey, Helen Andrews, Wilma Sinclair, Craig Royce, Jeanette Hall, Verna Price, Edna Bradley, Wilmer Hall, Donna Downs, Alma Bradley, Earl Price and Gordon Andrews.”
Notes
Miss Gladys McCleary was a long-time teacher at McCurdy's Corners School, Ninth Line and Derry Roads which was S.S.#8. She became a school inspector and later a trustee. Halton County has honoured her work by naming a school after her. Please see the link provided here.

S.S. #7 was the school at the corner of Derry Road and Sixth Line.

More information on McCurdy's School can be found at the Heritage Mississauga link provided here, as Mc Curdy's Corners became part of Mississauga in 1974.
