Description
“Our one-room school at Omagh where I attended public school, the same school my father went to. The teacher taught all the students from prime (Kindergarten) to grade 8 in one room. We had a music teacher come once a week. I am standing in the back row, 6th from the left. I am taller than the teacher and all the boys. My brother Jim is in the front row 2nd from right. We often walked by ourselves 4-5 miles a day to school (round trip). In the winter, we often didn’t get home until after dark, and no one thought anything of it; it was normal back then.”- Isobel Ford Davison
