50th anniversary at Thousand Isles
Guest from all over Canada and United States, gathered at the Mount Airy Hotel, in the Thousand Islands, to honour Mr. and Mrs. Mel Tamblyn of 21 Raylawn Cr., on the occasion of their 50th anniversary last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Tamblyn were married in 1924 in Toronto and moved to Georgetown 24 years ago, living here ever since.
The family party was hosted by George Wacklin, Mrs. Tamblyn's brother, and attended by relatives from British Columbia, New York, Cleveland, Brockwille, Belleville, Scarborough and Toronto.
The couple received a plaque from Prime Minister William Davis, a letter from the Hon. Jim Snow, and a Telegram from Governor General Leger.
