Years of budget cuts and neglect erode our capability and put our soldiers at risk. Social programs are important, but so is our military. We will soon have to defend the North or watch the world take it from us. This costs money and we had better make the decision now to entrench stable military funding no matter who is in power or watch our coun- try be taken from us. The announcement of a training deploy- ment does not now, nor has it ever required Parliamentary approval. This is not an exten- sion of the mission, but a new mission entirely. So Mr. Ede, thanks for your opinion. I can hardly wait to see the reaction you get from veterans and current serving mem- bers of our military. The First and Second World Wars were fought so that everyone has the freedom to live as they please and speak their mind.
