The Canadian Cancer Society, Burlington, Oakville, Milton Unit is looking for Oakvilles most wanted. Being on the wrong side of the law for the right cause is what its all about for Kathy Drostek from Uptown Orthodontics who has already been arrested in support of the upcoming 2011 Canadian Cancer Society Jail-N-Bail event in January. I was charged with assault by infectious weapon. Its an inside joke here at the clinic because we sterilize every- thing, said Drostek. The Unit is looking for other criminals like Drostek to be exposed and turned into the fundraising event in which those charged and arrested must raise bail (donated funds) to get out of jail. Halton Regional Police always co-operate by rounding up the criminals charged in the fun and then detaining them in a makeshift jail erected in centre court at Oakville Place. The scenario the clinics staff has created as the basis for Drosteks charge is that she was late for work one day due to a bad hair day. Co-worker Sarah Brohm then made a joke about her Have You Used Your Benefits For 2010 Yet? Why not start your holiday off in the best health possible! Call and schedule your appointment today! Without delay, the co-worker called the Canadian Cancer Society to seek retri- bution for the offence. I think this will be a lot of fun and its for such a good cause; I have had a few people close to me affected by the disease, said Drostek whose bail is set at $500 and all donations will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. Drostek is hoping to raise her bail by receiving donations from family, friends and staff. The very spirited staff at her workplace has also set up a dona- tion box with homemade baked goods at the front desk of the orthodontist office to raise awareness and encourage donations from patients. Drostek has yet to configure a plea to be made before a celebrity judge or hire a lawyer before her trial date. Her co-workers however say they will all be going to visit her in jail. On the trial date, Drostek and her fellow perpetrators will be dressed in prison garb, have their mug shot taken, and be transported to a makeshift jail where theyll be imprisoned with only a piece of bread and water until they raise their bail. The Canadian Cancer Society Jail- N-Bail will take place on Friday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oakville Place Shopping Centre. The Canadian Cancer Society is still looking for volunteers.
