And the magic wont stop there the whole transaction will also deliver toys to needy children through the CTV/Salvation Armys Toy Mountain campaign. Kennedy Ford dealership principal David Nourse and Oak-Land Ford Lincoln princi- pal David Sanci were recently on hand at the Salvation Army, Oakville Community Church to deliver a pickup truck full of toys. According to Nourse, the Toronto Ford Dealers Association donated $10,000 to kick start the program. Locally, the toys are destined for the Salvation Army Toy Mountain at Oakville Place and eventually will be available for needy parents to pick out as Christmas gifts this month at the Salvation Armys Toy Depot on Cross Avenue. While everyone is invited to bring a new, unwrapped gift to the Toy Mountain collec- tion bin located on the lower level near Oakville Places Centre Court, a donation made at either of the local Ford dealerships will earn a ballot per toy to win a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The car is worth approximately $22,000, said Nourse. At each of the dealerships, a Ford pickup truck has also been donated to the toy drive. Those trucks sit at each dealership await- ing donations. Customers can stop in, make a donation and fill out their ballot. Nourse said the draw will be made on Thursday, Dec. 23 and will be seen live on the 6 p.m. news on CTV. In addition, Nourse said anyone stopping by the local dealerships on Dec. 14 can test drive a Ford without having to purchase anything and the dealership will make a $10 donation to the Toy Mountain campaign. Nourse said all toys collected go to a main distribution centre and then are redi- rected to the communities to suitably meet the communitys needs. As always, the toughest group to buy for and collect donations for are those aged 11 to 14 years. Nourse said the best answer for this crowd is gift certificates, which may be used toward anything from electronic gadg- ets to food purchases. This is the first year the local Ford deal- erships have participated in this campaign however anything that will help needy par- ents and Santa deliver Christmas and a smile to children is deemed worthwhile. After all, the smile worn on Dec. 23 by the lucky winner of the Fiesta is one that will be lighting the face of each child the campaign assists on Christmas morning.
