Educated by the Barnabites and in grade 11 entered the Barnabite nov i c i a t e and one yea r l a t e r made s imple vow. Spent 4 years in Rome Seminary. Ordained Apri l 8, 1939 in St. John Laterano-Cathedral of Rome. I n G e n o a b e t w e e n 1 9 3 9 a n d 1 9 5 4 obtained his degree in Biology and his Masters degree in Chemistry. In 1946 he started a summer home for young m e n , g i r l s a n d t h e i r f a m i l i e s i n Al lomont, Val DAosta (Alps Region). In 1955, was named Father Superior o f t h e B a r n a b i t e s , B u f f a l o N . Y. , Chaplain of the Sisters of Charity and Columbus Hospitals. Built a Seminary next to Our Lady o f Fa t ima Shr ine . 1 9 6 2 t o 1 9 6 3 c o n s t r u c t i o n o f S t . James Church, 1964 became pastor o f S t . James Church unt i l 1990. In 1 9 9 0 r e t u r n e d t o t h e S h r i n e i n Lewiston, went to Bethlehem, P.A. and to the Phillipines. Retired to St. James Church i n 1994 . He t r ave l ed many destinations but his great love was for hiking, mountain-climbing, music and reading. We thank him for h is great dedication, spirituality, inspiring talks and just knowing he is a wonder ful friend to us all. Margaret was the beloved wife and soul mate of the late Harry (Henry) Edwards for 74 years. She will be sadly missed by the children she loved, the late Lynne Albrecht (2008) and her husband Erwin, Barry and his wife Tina, Gail Sharkey and her partner Bill Newhouse. Margaret was the devoted grandmother of nine, great grandmother of 14, great great grandmother of 2. Margaret was a caring and generous woman always willing to help her family making sure children's appointments and events were met on time. She was a tireless volunteer for many years at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital specifically in the children's ward. An adventurous woman she travelled many places with Harry even living in Austria for a short time after retirement. Margaret's family will receive friends at a gathering to remember and celebrate her life on Saturday, December 18th at 12 p.m. at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (905-842-2252).
