The projected year-end surplus was included in a detailed operat- ing budget report for Jan.1-Oct. 31, that was presented to the Administrative Services Com- mittee Tuesday night. In her report, Deputy Treasurer and Director of Financial Planning Nancy Sully discussed how the Town saved money this year. The surplus is primarily because of supplementary tax rev- enue, winter control savings and to a small degree penalty and interest on tax revenue, said Sully. There are savings in some pro- grams like Financial Services, Information Systems and Solutions. They are contributing to the surplus, as well.
