The way the Oakville Blades are rolling these days, they dont want to stop for a Christmas break. The Blades enter their final game of the calendar year tonight (Wednesday) in Georgetown on a seven-game winning streak, fol- lowing victories in both their Ontario Junior Hockey League games last weekend. Oakville earned a come-from-behind 4-3 shootout win over the Hamilton Red Wings Friday, then whipped the Milton IceHawks 8-2 the following evening. Both contests were played at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The Blades overcame a 3-0 third-period deficit in the win over Hamilton, with Kyle Lysaght notching the equalizer with just six seconds remaining in regula- tion. Lysaght and Kyle Blaney later scored in the shootout to lift Oakville to the win. Dylan Wood and Stefan Thompson had the Blades other markers against the Wings. Saturday, the Blades didnt need such dramatics, outshooting the IceHawks 58-29. Josh Ranalli scored twice and Lysaght added a single to give the Blades a 3-1 lead after two periods, and Oakville blew the game open with five third-period tallies. Ranalli finished the game with a hat trick, while Tyler Karius, Brandon Denham, Braeden Russell and Blaney also scored in the third-period out- burst. James Prigione earned the net- minding victory in both contests last weekend, including a relief effort Friday. Oakvilles seven-game spurt has lifted the Blades (23-11-1) into a tie with Hamilton for third in the West Division. Oakville can also move to within two points of the Raiders for second place with a win tonight.
