Nowhere was Oakville more dominant than in the atom divisions, where the Rangers AAA, AA and A entries had each opened the tournament with three straight victories. The atom AA Rangers allowed just one goal in their victories while the atom A Rangers outscored their opponents 23-2. Meanwhile, the Rangers atom AE team also opened with three wins before settling for a 2-2 tie with the Barrie Colts. Even Oakvilles select team of house league players was showing very well, splitting its four games against rep teams. Though they had yet to play as many games, Oakvilles three midget squads were still perfect as of Tuesday afternoon, going a com- bined 5-0. The midget AAs and midget AEs were both 2-0 while the midget A Rangers won their opener 11-1. In the peewee ranks, both the minor peewee A and minor peewee AE Rangers were a perfect 3-0 while the peewee AAs were 2-0-1. They posted two shutouts before tying Burlington 2-2. The minor bantam AE Rangers edged Georgetown 1-0 to improve to 2-0. The minor bantam As and AAs also won their openers. Championship games begin today (Wednesday) with nine of the 15 divisions crowning a winner. The remaining six finals will be played Thursday.
