Brayton, her two daughters and parents brought 500 pounds of goods to support the underprivileged children, many of them orphans. By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Oakville resident Kelly Brayton loves to travel, so much so shes visited 51 countries and is still counting, but some of those trips are more than just about sightseeing. On a recent trip, Brayton took her two young daughters and her parents to the city of Jinja in Uganda where they deliv- ered 500 pounds of goods to support local underprivileged children, most of whom are orphans, and purchased other items while there. The trip lasted 10 days over the Thanksgiving holiday period. I take them (daughters) on trips around the world and show them differ- ent things and I want them to appreciate what they have. I figured Thanksgiving was the perfect time to do it, to show them that, she said. Her daughters are Madison, 11, and Carly, 9, both West Oak Public School students. One of the things my youngest daughter said to me was, Its amazing these kids have nothing and are so happy, Family spreads good fortune to Ugandan children Town billed $34,500 for four office furniture pieces There was more to it than a new office. We got a more efficient set up that better accommodated our needs including a conference room that we didnt have before. Oakville Mayor Rob Burton See Family page 8 See Renovation page 3
