- Brothers Thomas (1810-1886) and John (1803-1863) Evans emigrated from Ireland to Trafalgar Township in 1832. Thomas's wife, Ann Rogers, came with them. Thomas farmed on Con. I N., Lots 22 and 23. John on Con. V, Lots 2 and 3. They were not far from the Sixteen Hollow or Glenorchy.
The photograph of interest here is of John Dillon Evans, also known as John Jr. He married Isabella Adeline Beatty, was a Reeve of Etobicoke Township, York County and then a Warden for York County. The photograph is in the York Pioneer Historical Society Memoriam, on a page with that of W.D. McIntosh. John was elected to the Society administration in 1900 and was a member until his death in 1920. In the 1901 Census, his occupation is "beekeeper". John Jr.'s brother, Richard Henry Evans married Isabella's sister, Matilda Diana Beatty.

Henry Ide was a blacksmith, b.April 1830 d. January 1904. Henry and Eliza's children were: Emily, Charlotte, Ethel and Edward. - Notes
