March In failing health for three months he was years of age Funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian church Georgetown conducted by the Rev N A Young of Knox and Rev Kelvin Johnston of United church Interment was in Greenwood cemetery Georgetown Members of the Georgetown fair board were among the many attending the funeral Active pallbearers were Allan Port Credit Don Lindsay 1 Georgetown Jesse McEncry 2 Acton Ellwood Snow 1 Georgetown Jim Cripps Robert Guelph the honorary pallbearers were Frank Wilson Art Benton K C Lindsay F Shortill Robert Miller Wilfred Harding A C Patterson and George Currie Flower bearers were Charlie Thomson Morgan Madill Bert Benton Kyle Bingham Lloyd Renrick Douglas Hogarth and Fred Mr Price was bom in Esquesmg township son of the late Robert and Mary Ann Harding He attended Blue Mountain public school SS No 14 and at one time was a member of the Blue Mountain school board He and Mary Bertha Robson were married in Garafraxa township and she predeceased him He is survived by daughter Mrs Fred J R R 1 Limehouse son Gordon Islington sister Mrs Acton and eight grandchildren He had two farms In township living at R R 1 for the past 17 yean He was an elder of Limehouse Presbyterian church for years At one time he was president of the Georgetown Agricultural Society and he was a member of Community Hall Board G A Beirnes RR medical supervisor On Saturday February at Guelph General Hospital there passed away George Albert Beirnes of 4 Acton Born in Hamilton years ago he saw three and a half years of service in the Canadian armed forces in World War II During this period he received training as a nursing orderly and for the last 21 years has been medical supervisor at the Ontario Training Centre Brampton Nearly years ago Mr Beirnes married Melissa Harris of Acton and she and their daughter Mrs Donald Franklin also of Acton mourn a dear husband and father Surviving Mr Beirnes also are two brothers William of Fergus and James of Hamilton a sister Mrs Hazel Cook of California and a stepmother Mrs Ethel of Guelph Mr Beirnes was a member of St Anglican Church where the funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon March 3 Rev R Giuhano F A B D M A of Bramalea Was assisted by Rev J Dawson A B Th of the church Interment was made In Fait view Cemetery Acton Many expressions of sympathy were received by Mrs and Mrs Franklin and show the esteem in which Mr was held These include letter from J M Marsland Superintendent of the Ontario Training Centre Brampton the Student Council of the 0 T C and from Allan Grossman Minister of Correctional Services Parliament Buildings Queens Park Toronto On March a memorial service was held in the Training Centre chapel and a eulogy was sent to Mrs and her daughter A bronze tablet commemorating Mr Beirnes faithful attention to duty will be installed in the chapel The eulogy states that the greatest attribute a man can possess and portray is that of service to others Service to his fellow man ennobles the Christian character of any man The late George service and a deep sense of duty and devotion May the infirmary the sick bay at O T C Brampton stand forever as a silent memorial to his name and memory The eulogy pointed out his spirit toward duty in caring for the wounded and dying in World War 11 during the Dieppe raid with the 11th Field Ambulance Corps He
