Ken Ellis a teacher at our high school took us on a fascinating Safari Into Africa on film Mr Ellis has Just returned from teaching over there and has quite a collection of slides Besides being interesting It was educational and I for one teamed a lot of new things about Africa and its people He showed us that though Africa is still underdeveloped in many ways it Is very modernized in a lot of animals some gentle and some huge and rather terrifying but all very interesting In addition the Lamplighters a Jazz band composed of five students captivated the audience both young and old with their music Then to end the evening Mrs Fleischer and her students served coffee and cookies One disappointment One disappointment in the evening was the turnout There were a handful of teenagers a District High School at am for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair We arrived at Exhibition Park at approximately ten am The purpose of the trip was to acquaint the students with new farming techniques implements breeds of livestock as well as the latest in commercial products The exhibits ranged from the newest types of cured meat products to Fergusons new line of farm machinery me students were lived in Vancouver and Edmonton During her many flights she visited the Northwest Territories the Orient the South Pacific Europe and Mexico After this she married an English engineer who now works for Air Canada in Malton They lived In Winnipeg where Mrs Turner worked parttime In Victoria Hospital Mrs Turner also did some public health work in Churchill Manitoba Enjoys Acton After moving to Acton our new nurse worked parttime at General Hospital before taking up her position at the High School Mrs Turner has three children Alarm and 13 months The older two attend Robert Little School Mrs Turner sees some advantages In She has always wanted to work with young people and this Is one of the reasons sne accepted the position at our school Mrs Turner docs not find it difficult starting her
