Parks Board authorizes improvements in arena A budgetary surplus of has allowed Acton Parka and Recreation committee to authorize purchase of some very necessary equipment and have hither reoaint on authorized purchase of mesh for hockey goal nets at an approximate cost of installation of eavestroughlng on the south wall installation of two new sets of steps leading to the lower part of the arena on the inside Installation of a new fire door on the south side wall and purchase of a Scott air pack for the arenas engine room Purchase of the Scott air pack was among recommendations made to the board earlier in the meeting by Herb Dodds representing Acton Firefighters In addition to purchase of the air Mr suggested installation of panic bars on doors leading out of the room because of the possibility of ammonia escaping from the ice making machine Routine inspection Mr explained Firefighters had carried out a routine Inspection of the arena but added they were not forcing the board into anything lust making important suggestions Other suggestions made by Mr Dodds Included Installation of emergency exits on both the north and south walls and transfer of all exit lights to a
