Equal pay for equal work Sir I would like to express my opinion on Women Rights We have a society for the emancipation of women and It la Just about Urns It spoke out persuasively I believe In equal pay with men for women who are doing the same job Why not They do the same work why not the same pay Don t tell me they are not as capable Their head power Is equally strong But I believe more than that Experience in a business a bank or what not should count The woman who works her way up and who knows that business thoroughly should be the one who Ills the position of the man a step higher when ho Is removed Why bring In a stranger when you have the goods right there What do you readers think Yours truly Defend Chamber on ghts RR2 Reading the rather scathing remarks by Commissioner Tyler re the Chamber of Commerce and expenditures on Christmas lights and decorations for Acton I feel that the question of whose responsibility it is to supply and maintain Christmas decorations is a subject which can become a very tender one Let face It we are all faced with rising expenditure each and every day of the year and the Chamber small as It is can only claim so much tax relief on respect of business and unlike the transport industry who just pass It on to the users there Is limit to which the members of the Chamber of Commorco can go with retail prices for if they get too high you lose your business It would appear to me that Instead of blowing his top regarding Christmas decorations Mr Tyler Sr should have looked at both sides of the fence Instead of one The whole matter feel sure could have been amicably settled If all concerned had met and been frank with each other Instead of blasting merchants who obviously ore wary of expenditures if I were a merchant I would tell Mr Tyler where to go Yours truly A C Welch Hospital lodge appreciates gifts An overgrown sajsugo la the wuy firry Mooro describes 1 Duin an Innovation in di m building Implemented at the Scotch both a merry and melancholy significance Fairies so it Is said loved the holly They found its leaves such a comforting shelter thot even after holly was cut from the trees they lingered about allowing themselves to be carried indoors where they protected the home from evil spirits Later Christian believers saw the thorny leaves and bright red berries of the holly as symbols of the Crown of Thorns
