make money but to keep the traffic flowing but we also need the money to keep the meters In repair Terra preservation GEORGETOWN The Terra preservation committee appears to be generally in favor of construction of a new bridge to replace the old structure according to its president John Agg Mr Agg said approval of the new bridge by the Peel committee came as no surprise We knew for some time that they were looking at the old bridge and we are not disturbed by this move he said The roads committee agreed to follow a suggestion from councillor George Gardhouse that the engineer meet with members of the preservation committee to get Its views on the Mr shows that It is being a bit more sensitive to our feelings about this matter We are not going to argue with the engineers about how safe the old Is If they have decided It unsafe we are not going to question them he said Our concern is how the new bridge will be located so that as little disruption as possible of the present road occurs He said the group would also suggest to the engineer that the bridge constructed has see- through skies so that scenery would not be blocked off from passing motorists Giant snow carnival date for official opening of the new Wellington County home for the aged at Elora late summer or early fall The committee of management met In Toronto with government officials and progress was reported to be satisfactory Tenders are to be called now for furniture drapery and and at Its March meeting county council is expected to opt a new name for the residence This became necessary because of disagreement with the original name of Wellington Haven that had been approved last fall Construction of the new residence for elderly people has been planned for many years but It was the reason for Wellington bounty assuming its first debenture debt In several years Through careful financing council was able to set up funds annually for a number of years to maintain an account for construc
