Rock and Broom mostly corn By Bob MacArt This past week saw a number of draws playing off to decide silverware winners The Wed men league has a play off schedule which will conclude on April 14 The teams in this layoff skipped by A Cooksley Dubois W Dubois M Blow M Jordan and Other will be taking place at the rink practically every night of the week Erin men are at the club tonight Wednesday and the mixed rinks will be here Tuesday April 13 Curlers are needed to fill in the rinks that will oppose the Erin rinks The men will curl for the interclub trophy ft was been an annual event for a number of years The windup will be held at the club on Saturday April 17 A full days entertainment is planned for that date The men will be charged for the day and the women are expected to provide for the lunch that will be served in the evening Expect there also will be dancing before the lights go out The switches wilt be pulled and the ice machines shut down right oiler this So make the most of the day It is not too early to think of the general meeting to be held Saturday May Trophies won during the season will be presented A dinner and dance will be arranged Some business will be more than the winners in the second draw They took the beautiful trophy along with individual trophies Last year a team skipped by George Williams won the same trophy Other winners in the fust draw were runnerup Steve Dubois Mary Jane New George and Pearl Barber Third place winners were Allan and Olive Ernie and Phil The fourth place team was made up of Ron and Lucille Cooksley Ted and Hansen And the team that swept in vain and did not score enough points wa headed by Mick Holmes Dave Manes close In the second draw the top team was BUI and Mae Dumarsh Colin Baker and Ina Mellon with 36Vi points Second team was Dave Manes Pauline Symon Herb Cook and Arlene Archibald They had points Third prize winners were Mel Jordan Shirley and Brydon Hunter and Dolores Jordan with points Fourth place
