operation portion of the courses New buildings rhe concrete foundation has been poured to ground level for the one storey Classroom and Administration Building to be located just south of the existing building When completed the brick structure by 100 feet will house four classrooms general office and faculty and staff lunchrooms Hie second building a by GO foot concrete structure will be used for cleaning equipment which must be done periodically for inspection and proper operation of the Vocational training Centre will complete the building project This pre engineered metal building BO 120 feet will serve a dual func tion an area for students as Heavy Equipment field Mechanics and a location lor performing major overhauls to Sheridan own Students work Construction on the 200acrc site will be carried out by architects and Dick and by genenl contractors Milne and As part of their training students at the Heavy equipment School prepared the land and did the excavation using the college s own equipment Wilt Administrator at the Heavy Equipment School plans to hold seminars on supervisory responsibility and management techniques for con supervisors using the new facilities Short courses Sheridan Is also looking into the possibility of providing training programs for crane operators and heavy truck operators Presently the school offers courses which range from four to weeks in Loader Bulldozer Operator Heavy Equipment Operation and Service Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic and Operator The popular nineweek Heavy equipment Operator program which normally does not function during the winter months will now schedule classes year round At their regular meeting August Acton Council Assured Toronto planning consultant Sernas they forwarded his request for
