Number 3 Zoning bylaw changes reviewed ICY GREETING FOR Fowl ice landings delight spectator Someone facetiously labelled it fowl play when wild ducks and geese tried to land on frozen Fairy Lake early Tuesday morning Covered by Its first thin sheet of transparent ice the wild ducks came in expecting to splash Into the water Instead they bounced off the ice and did topsyturvy landings on the Ice surface Attraction drawing the wild fowl were ducks and Canada geese harbored in the lake by the porks board and parks manager Harold Townsley calling them for breakfast You could almost see a look of surprise on their faces when they landed on that ice laughed early morning spectator Jack Carpenter They waddled and tumbled all over the place But the biggest surprise was to the geese who thumped into the ice with all their weight Later that day the parks board fowl goose stepped down the lake ice in a line like a troop of corporals seeking wet spots where ice had melted A large flock of wild
