Golden weddin Reception on Saturday for Mr Mrs S Braida Their golden wedding anniversary was celebrated last Saturday by longtime Acton residents Severlno and Madeline The couple still live at the town eastern outskirts although their dairy farm has now been sold Mr Bralda retired from Beardmore and Co In 1964 A reception was held In the Music Centre Saturday afternoon followed by a family dinner for over Saturday morning a special mass was sung at St Joseph for the couple Rev performed the mass with the retired pastor Rev Morgan attending and both priests were guests at the dinner All family The couple were happy to have all their family with them son wife Shirley Janet and David on and wife Joyce from Kingston with their family Pat Cheryl Susan Theresa and Gary soninlaw Don Tlmmings and family John Jim Philip Paul Kenneth and Marianne Their only daughter Eveleen Tlmmings died tragically in December 1965 Mrs Bralda brothers came from Bracebrldge Mr and Mrs Louis and Bralda law Mrs Harry with her daughter Mr and Mrs Gary Da Pre and wo Harry Other guests included Mr and Mrs Art Foster and son Walter Pembroke and Mrs Donna Cooper Toronto Same name Yes Mrs Braida family are named Bralda too She was bom in Italy but came to Canada as a baby and lived In Bracebrldge After service in World War Braida came to Canada in from Graven near Torino After six months in he moved to Bracebrldge where he met the other relation Came to Acton He worked at the Anglo Canadian Tannery for seven years The couple were married in Dec and came to Acton in where he worked at Beardmore They lived on Main St then bought their farm in and built their house there with the help of their sons and daughter in His brothers Eugene and Abele Braida already lived in Acton making a close family unit here They retired from farming in MR AND MRS Severing Braida were surrounded by family and friends at an Open House and dinner when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last Saturday They came to Acton In 1927 Staff Photo and the farm has been sold Trips back Mr Braida was one of the original founders of the Legion and Mrs belonged to the W They made a trip back to Italy two years ago Mr has also had a couple of trips back as an interpreter for Rock wood International on cattle buying assignments At Saturdays reception two law Mrs A of Acton and Mrs Harry Braida
