OUR READERS WRITE Should turn back to God Wed Jan are our schools coming to The garbage and trash that Is being taught our children They arc taught we come from monkeys and monkeys from fish etc Evolution They are taught we are on the same level as an animal Humanism How does it feel to be of the same level as a monkey pig or something Our children are being taught they are like animals They feel they are dirt and rotten due to this teaching They start acting like animals and everyone wonders where they are learning such a thing Their desire to be anything worthwhile is robbed so they act like the animals they are told they are from and like Our teenage re are a great concern to many There are many good and honest and wonderful teenagers but Were are a vast number of confused irresponsible teenagers Are vou pleased with the results it brings Confused teenagers are turned Into confused adults and confused parents Such lies as Evolution and Humanism should not be taught in our schools to our children It is these things that are drawing our children away from God Would you feed your child garbage Certainly not yet their minds are being with the worst garbage possible want my children to realize the power God has God created them and that God loves them loves them so much that he sent Jesus to save them and through Jesus they are saved and believe all that Jesus said and taught I do not appreciate my children being taught such things as Evolution and Humanism Dont you think its time we started teaching our children to turn back to God Mrs Charlotte Terrace Acton Accept committee decisions Howitt pleads with council The free Wednesday 2 5 Scouts attend conference Fifteen leaders and five members of the Boy Scout group committees from the Georgetown superintendent J Kennedy and a lunch provided by the school service staff filled out the af ternoon as well as a craft display in the gym by the Brampton district councillor Dick by the decision claiming the Howitt a lawyer when he is not committee exceeded Its wearing his council cap urged authority township colleagues to accept Councillor plea to Committee of Adjustment council Monday found ready decisions with reluctance when acceptance with deputy reeve they disagree with them We are setting a dangerous precedent if we dispute every time an application for separation is turned down by the Committee of Adjustment he told council Monday night as they discussed a committee decision to turn down on application by David for a separation and whether he should be invited to a Joint meeting Mr Mulrhead appeared before council January 17 to complain about the committee decision to separate 25 acres he owns at the corner of the Sixth line and Five The applicant said the land would still be used for agri culture so there was no change In use Too many In a written report the committee said there had been too many separations on the property already but Mr Mulrhead said the committee had told him privately that a separation would be granted provided no residence wa3 built Miller who said it was not councils business to decide general uses only to set policy Councillor Coxe who took up the cudgels for Mr Muirhead at the last meeting of council agreed that council had to accept committee decisions unless they were appealed Still problems If we accept Mr Mulrhead3 story completely we still have a problem with the number of separations said Howitt He meeting with others excluded Dr Leno Braida chairman Halton Separate School Bd suggested if the committee made a decision on wrong facts the applicant still had the option of reapplying for the separation My concern Is what degree the Committee of Adjustment took into account the building of a house said Was the separation turned down because a house was being built on the property Thats Mr Muirheads story said Mr Howitt It is the only story I know said Council finally decided that only they and the committee would discuss the Issues at a joint PORTRAIT OF a musical group was taken on the front steps of the home of Free Press editor H P Moore whos standing centre front But who are the others This old store proprietor the storm was only a shower You should be here when it really rains he said the water floods our stores Does it rain every day Almost he replied At four the afternoon we steamed out of Key West still wet and anxious to come back some time when the climate was drier As the ship headed back into the Caribbean Sea it was noised around that Fidel Castro had been making some unfriendly noises so we would hae to change course and go a hundred miles or so out of our way Personally I was hoping wed be boarded by the Cubans and towed Into Havana Id always wanted a Cuban holiday But the Norwegian captain and crew seemed anxious to avoid any relations with the bearded Cuban That night after another of those indescribably delicious meals ships are famous for ambled down to the office and asked for some seasick pills which they were ladling out to all those who looked green around the gills I took two to make sure the would have some effect By nine oclock I was yawning so hard my wife and Mr and Mrs almost hod to carry me to the bunk Relaxed I could have wound around a starfish and eaten conch shells Seasick pills are a heady brew when they mix with the contents of your digestive tract As a sure fire means of achieving relaxation I can vouch for them Their power to relieve seasickness symptoms are still open to question however because I have no remembrance of what happened until I awoke early stepped out on deck to see the sunrise and enquire when we would arrive in Nassau Although we were late because of the detour it wasnt long before the Sunward steamed Into the turquoise colored water In Nassau harbor and pulled alongside the quay shared with fishing boats and hundreds of other craft in a colorful scene unlike anything I had ever elementary supply teachers at the meeting She argued that the task of supply teacher was tougher than that of the regular teacher yet they were paid less than the minimum for the regular teachers Regular teachers receive per day Dont cut pay A recommendation to cut that per day payment by 25 per cent was deferred Mrs Coxe asked the board to consider inviting supply teachers to workshops and other inservice training that regular teachers receive She said her group wanted to be included with the regular teachers as much as possible and take part in programs that would other boards where the pay wasnt being cut The 25 per cent cut would save the board 85000 to a year FOR TOP QUALITY S FRESH FISH ACTON FISH CHIPS In The Beckers Plaza Try our delicious ONION RINGS SHRIMPS FISH CHIPS
