The Acton Free Press Wednesday July 60 attend Bible School hay ride closing program By Mrs Fred Arthur Sunday Church Service was very well attended when Acton Baptist Church friends Joined us our morning worship During the past week in the forenoons a very successful and rewarding vacation Bible school was conducted at Churchill Church The dally attendance was approximately DO children The theme study was Fitting all of life together Young Teen Class grade 68 was lead by Joyce Denny They held group discussions did work book assignments and completed projects from leather and yam The Junior class grade and led by Janice Swackhamer had the largest enrollment They completed the attractive posters from colored tissue paper and made leather novelties as well as working on assignments in their pupil books Miss Ruth Klrkwood assisted by Elizabeth Thompson and Karen Mac Arthur taught the primary children grades 1 to These pupils completed assignments and projects co ordinating with their lessons The pre school class was taught by Debbie assisted by Vera Strokov They studied Bible verses and stories and learned songs The school activities were supervised and directed by Mrs Joanne Turner and Mrs Shirley Anderson A lively sing song and refresh merit time was the highlight of each day Mrs Marie Anderson assisted greatly to the enjoyment of the singing by playing the organ Hay ride On Wednesday evening Mr took the Teen and Junior Classes for a hay ride arriving at the Turner home for a wiener roast returning to the church by bus On Thursday evening the children presented skits sang songs and repeated memory verses to proud parents and interested friends who viewed their work which was lively displayed in the basement Mrs Shirley Anderson provided ice cream
