visited Acton high school years ago I attended Erin High and one of my teachers had been Mr McLarnon So it was a pleasure to sec him again and to Ix to interview him hear his views on tht system He very impressed with Acton High liking the flexibility it provides It gets the teachers and the students out of rut he said At they presently have ten periods a day whereas Acton has six onehour periods Mr thinks changing to the semester system would be an a I vantage to himself as well ah to the students His statement What I have seen today seems to be a system that works and works well certainly gives us the Impression that he likes what he has seen Mrs Baldwin fee is that the puts demands on both students and teachers She also feels it offers lot of selection Hut she interested and is willing lo try it If I were to change to the semester system it would be a step for them just as it has been for us This poem which has such great heartbreaking realism written into it was the theme for the Remembrance Day assembly held on the morning of November in Acton High auditorium The many slides i music and effective lighting made war seem very close to the hearts of all and caused us to think of the men who fought for Canada PRINCIPAL Dave Kitz discusses the visiting the school last week aim Crtrt merits of the semester system with parents Photo by Janice Gibson canity campaign
