shudder And the competitors were fidgeting Sunday when the racing crew pulled Into Park for Carlisle annual Mobons Cup snowmobile races Their nervousness was natural for the club has a reputation for winning a pile of trophies wherever they go Sunday was no exception as eight of the clubs entries picked up 18 trophies including eight first prizes in the days program of races There were about machines entered points Led by the veteran Chris who took six awards making him top driver of the day the club literally smeared most or the competition They won all but two of the days races Brading won firsts in the B and D modified classes seconds in stock and open modified third In C modified and stock He won 28 points W become top driver of the day and was presented with the sterling silver the third season the Racing Team has been In operation although some of the drivers have raced more than three seasons It was formed when Jacques Joe Winder Wayne Auckland and Chris got together and decided to start a club That first year about eight members raced and most of them did pretty well In the clubs second year of operation the 197071 season Robertson and service station at Lowville donated a large trophy for the club member amassing the most points in the season events Five points are given for a first prize four for a second three for third two for Ian Grant won the trophy that first year Out In front Chris pulled out in front last winter to claim the trophy and to date this season he s leading In the point standings with points after Sundays racing Dan and Ian Grant are vying for second place in the points total Club members meet every Monday night at Joe Winder shop in Milton to discuss the weekend racing and make plans for future events Through the winter season from mid- December to March theyre away nearly every weekend to races sanctioned by the Ontario Snowmobile Racing Federation President says the guys could race on their own and probably do well but
