For the cost of pesetas we were able to view the originals of famous artists such as Goya Velazquez and El Greco whose paintings we could only see before In books or on film But now we were looking at originals actually hand painted by these very men themselves But not only could Spanish artists be found Famed Dutch painters and others from dlf nationalities were present throughout the vnst corridors Other painters As we wandered through the many mates of hallway quite often we were to stumble across a painter or two trying his or her hand at making a replica of a certain painting But despite their efforts there was some difference between Ihe replica and the original mainly due to the colors Today colors and their Intensities arc certainly more varied than they were in those days
