School of Design Summer daw Design ceramic tccnolgqeifromHarry Hollander SUMMER CRAFTS Instructors teach students More than 230 adults enrolled in he Summer Crafts session the Sheridan School of Design Campus In DuringJune July and August a number of two and three week courses for beginners and practicing craftsmen were given In fabric printing ceramics metal glass weaving plastics and chery to mention a few College credits were granted for certain courses this year Instructors included School of Design faculty Marilyn University of Saskatchewan Ivan of New Brunswick Dick University of Minneapolis and Constance Howard of Goldsmith College of Art in New Cross London England Karen Wallace rtim Erica Spavins same of the Craft arc from left right Kami Wallace Erie Jim Andrew Sasaki aa4 ram Catty CRAFT FIELDERS Students teach children More than schoolage children spent part of their summer vacation learning about arts and crafts at Sheridan College They registered for Craft Fielders an Oppor tunity for Youth project directed by seven art students from the School of Design Campus In The program covered crocheting ceramics painting sketching and batik sup plemented discussions and a fun and sport day every Friday Classes were free and were held Monday to Friday each week from July 3 to August For many of the school children the Craft Fielders program was their first exposure to arts and crafts Sheridan instructors include second year design students Karen Wallace of Agincourt Andrew Suzuki of Burlington Aucotnof Port Credit Susan of Don Hills Jim Saar of Pembroke Cathy M of Thunder Bay and Eric of
