Jim Sinclair of radio station All were given gifts Anne says she hail a wonderful time the fair and shes looking forward to going to the CNF Shes only heard of one extra engagement yet as Miss Acton Fair A local businessman promptly in her to his Christmas staff party to act as on elf Shes bubbling her City band likes fair Members of the George high school band Toronto enjoyed taking part in a town fair again this year Some of them paraded with the Acton band Saturday and hen the whole band played a concert just inside the gates under director of teacher Art Mr Milliard also acts as guest conductor with the Acton band After the young players took in all the fair they went to the music centre for supper and a social evening The National Education Scholarship foundation has nominated the George Harvey high school band as n candidate for the National Band Festival as one of the outstanding high bands in America It is the only Ontario band chosen There are 25 bands selected and they will enter competition in the Stales to determine whether they are eligible to participate in the international festival in Vienna Thank you Acton Last week I had the opportunity to meat many of you personally I spent five days coming to your homes and was impressed by your friendly and encouraging reception Thank you It obvious we share the same concerns about taxes closeness of govern ment to taxpayers careful spending and good planning Everything we are concerned about snows a need for the strong repre sentation energy and deep understanding which I can give you and which comes from managing and solving difficult urban council and business problems Your needs not be neglected and Acton will receive its fair share of attention under my leadership THE MAN FOR THE JOB PHIL 11 OR
