Find money conquers all fly RJck Rocker Wednesday November 14 grade 12 French students and four teachers travelled to Guelph to see the French production of which translates at The Mlaer Before leaving every one enjoyed a delicious cold plate supper at the school The basic plot was about a misers marriage plans for his children and of course money His daughter was told that she must marry her father but In reality she was in love with her fathers servant In the meantime the misers son fell In love with a young woman called Msrlane for whom his father also had plans to marry This created quite a disturbance Part of the comedy revolved around the misers thirst for money and his lack of trust towards everyone But when he realleed that he had lost his money he leaned against his vault and replied Jo suit I am dead His feelings and expressions were so fantastic you could understand the basic plot without even knowing French This event climaxed the plan and In the end everyone lived happily ever after Mariano and found out that they were brother and sister and Cleante were freed from their fathers marriage plans and last but not least the miser treasure So as he would say the Board of Education has taken steps On November the Board passed a three point policy concerning the energy situation Firstly a program Is being initiated which will reduce the use of energy in schools Secondly the board proposes to Introduce the topic of energy conservation into the curriculum And steps are to be taken to study the crisis over a long term How will this affect Acton High and the elementary schools in town Well In the High School the thermostat wiR be turned down and windows will be kept closed In certains areas lighting will be reduced Any drastic changes however will occur only overnight when the building is empty So students and teachers should notice very little If any discomfort No figures are available at this time on how much energy will be conserved by these measures But the saving could be considerable and it is a good example for the public to follow At any rate long Johns may be the order of the day this winter The Government of Ontario has recently reversed itself in announcing the intro duction of compulsory sub jects in secondary schools to this there were no subjects though would students forego basic studies such as English and Math The
