May fold Scouting up leaders is an annual problem Registration will be under way again this year on Wed Sept from till 30 m at the tennial School for Scouts Cuba Guides and Brownies Interest has already been demonstrated by the children but I he yearly problem of scouting up leaders has be come a vital point in the groups this year Members of the executive have moved on to take over groups who would have other wise been nonexistent be cause of lack of leadership Wit now more than ever the group committee is net Just asking for help and support from parents or other interested and billing mem of the community but stressing the fact that volunteers do not come fifrth within the next week will be no alternative bat to fold up hose groups are desperately in need ol leaders Is no one to take on a group of boys who arc looking lorwam to a year of scouting camp ing and guidance toward earning their badges At present there is no execu live so volunteers for presl dent secretary and treasurer are being sought Without this guidance these groups cannot possibly function so it is now time that we not just canvass for support but re ceive it voluntarily from those parents who wish their children to participate in the various groups past chair man Julie Brace Assistance is needed not only as a leader of a unit but as a committee member in or adviser in group workshops such as camp skills music or drama crafts sports nursing home- making skills and nature ecology conservation Anyone with talent in any of these categories would be most helpful if they could spare a few hours of the year to help instruct the children toward earning their badges The Acton Free Press Wed September Special meet Phone in news Lions and council members met News Hems for the together last and advance But without support there is no way that they con function properly so it is now up to the village to come forth and stand behind voiir children and their inter Anyone willing to assist
