busy making toys and studying liBtsHowever it is also the time of year when letters pour In from youngsters all around the world Santa telephoned the Free Press when he was in Toronto on the weekend and asked us to please remind all the children to include their return address when writing him The jolly old fellow says with all the activity going on at home and in workshop is not always handy for him to answer the letters Immediately Santa has also promised tin Free Press to allow us to print some of the letters from local children In our newspaper He will send them to us sometime in December Music concert is combined effort On Sunday November students from the Acton Dis trict High School band BrookvUIe Z Bennett and Robert Little public schools will present a musical festi val entitled Music The concert will feature combined band and massed choir selections Four songs are being learned by all three public schools At the same time the high school band preparing instrumental ver of the four songs In addition to the combined efforts Junior and Senior choirs from each public MZ Bennett news school will perform as will the high school band The evening concert will be held In the Acton High School gymnasium at 7 30 m on Sunday November 21 A rehearsal for all pants will take place in the nigh school gymnasium from on Sunday November 21 Following the rehearsal some BrookvUIe students will be paired with students from Acton schools The guests will then accompany their acton hosts and hostesses for an evening meal with an Acton family It is expected that both students and slap ping start last Thursday evening The response was so good that both colonies are now filled to capacity The first Acton Beaver Colony will meet on Thursday evenings in the new Scout Halt For to tell you what he thought of Beavers in Acton It is based on their meeting a week ago today I saw some movies They were about real beavers and Cat the Hat The beavers build big dams to live in in winter The dams are made of sticks and mud The beavers swim to the shore to chop down trees with their teeth Their teeth are really sharp A hunter tried to shoot the beaver but some nice boys threw something into the water and scared the beaver away We played some goofy games Go around touch someone on their head and run fast Wesangsomesongs One was about two bears Yogi and BooBoo We had some popcorn and chips The leaders did the Beaver sign The Beaver sign is special You put your first two fingers up in the shape of beaver teeth All our leaders are nice to us We like them too The Beavers
