Kangaroo guest A big star REALL big Us never a dull life for Acton Jack Carpenter who recently had the pleasure of entertaining a seven foot kangaroo on his stereo radio program Music Hall Jack was interviewing London artists Wayne King a classical pianist and Dawson Chance a ventriloquist Both were to appear in the Royal Command Variety Show at the London Palladium on November the televised version of which may be shown later in Canada The creator of the a ventriloquist pup pet Chance is an old friend or Jack and Joyce Carpenter Many young will remember him from his appearance in and his memorable visits to Acton The kangaroo and Chance were recently dinner guests of the Carpenters King introduced his first recording Introducing Wayne King while appear on Jack s show Mystery There willingness to get in in rural development at the community level The new project is sup ported by funds from the K Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek Michigan and represents the first major grant for rural development In Canada At first the project Is proposed for two pilot areas within commuting distance of then when ways of assisting rural communities are better understood other areas will be
