Bennett to be the school of his first teaching job He grew up in Georgetown and was an Ontario Scholar there in Ontario Scholar is Acton teacher Oh the grace charm and splendour in the art of ballet Last Thursday three parent volunteers to which we ex tend our gratitude pamed Miss Lush our music teaeher and interested students from grades and to the ballet La Mai There was the beauty of the scenery and costumes the gentleness of he music and the magni dancing of Potts and Schramek that added up the successful production which was en joyed by all Last Tuesday the boys volleyball team played in an exhibition game which we won four games to one Then on Wednesday we played at their school which ended a tie of l 1 Lets keep it up boys The girls played a ball game with on Monday which we lost 1 Then on Wednesday they played Stewarttown which ended in a score of for Also on Fndnv we challenged Centennial to a game which ended in a score for Centennial On Friday a hot dog day was held again and was a great success very thing ran smoothly Music 7G On Sunday November Music 76 was held at the Acton high school The choirs Bennett lloberl Little and schools joined together with the Acton band to set the mood of the evening with the sons This Land is Land It was then followed by a scries of songs from the small choirs of each The program ended with the song Hymn to Canada which was written an Actnnian Herman Over all the concert was a great success and en i joyed by all Turnout for the concert was encouraging A special thanks is extended to the music teachers Miss Lush Mrs Fisher graduated from Georgetown high school in and was an Ontario Scholar He continued on to York College While getting his Bachelor of History and Philosophy degree he was editor of the college news paper chairman of the publication committee and a member of the budget com mittee Mr Fisher then went on to earn his Bachelor of Eduea in History and Physical Education at the University of Toronto His hobbies cover a wide spectrum of activities rang from golf to tennis to oil painting to hockey and kar ate Students learn more than the subjects they are actually being taught Mr Fisher believes restrict ing the drinking of liquor in public places Facilities superintendent Pat said he agreed completely with the concern shown by Oakville council Alcohol has been consumed openly In public parks and some people taunt the police After drinking in parks people invariably are driving home afterward However the petition is worded to make possession of open bottles or cases of alcoholic beverages in oilier than residences illegal Councillor Roy Booth pointed out this would rule out people drinking in their own gardens We would be turning back the clock He suggested referring the petition back
