eliminating and or restirct ing smoking in enclosed public recreation areas centres arenas poolsi have been received over the last Few months Members of council arc also concerned and have requested that the recreation parks department prepare a report concerning this area with suggestions on how to regulate and control smoking in enclosed public recreation areas To quote from an article in a recent issue of the Rights Association magazine A survey recentl completed by the Public Health Service Adult Use of Tobacco gives a big lifl to the Smokers Rights movement Perhaps the most dramatic and to some surprising aspect of the survey was the strong support even among smokers for the protection of smokers from the affects of ambient cigarette smoke Thus per cent of all per sons surveyed agreed that the smoking of cigarettes should be allowed in fewer places than it is now For the first time a majority of current smokers per cent agreed with hat sentiment As the report noted this means that more than half the smokers at the present time would like to see smoking allowed in fewer places than it is now despite the fact there are more and more restirctions on places where people are allowed to smoke In summary of these com mints and in order to assist with the compilation of our report we welcome your thoughts on this subject and would respectfully request your replies both verbal and written to be received at either Main Street South Georgetown or Mill Street East Acton on or before May Fencing Guides ourselectionof quality building materials is extensive Our specially
