years ago that they were united In marriage To honor thb memorable event their family Jack and Bunny Stewart Barry and Stewart Concord California and Ray and Haicl Evcrdell Port Hope hosted a reception on Sunday May at the Guelph Country Club A large number of friends and rela tives attended this auspicious occasion G W Pat McKenzie Acton a long time friend of the family was chairman for the celebration Among the many cards and gifts received were acknowledgements from political figures representing Ontario and Canada Mr Harry Worton Wellington South presented a certificate on behalf of Prime Minister Pierre and a scroll from the Ontario premier William Davis marking the couple years of marriage A letter of cong reflations and a plate were presented personally by Mayor Norm on behalf of the city of Guelph Telegrams were received from the Governor General and Madame and from cousins Hugh and Gertie McCutcheon from British Columbia Letters of cong ratulations were personally read by Harry Worton MP and Mrs Worton Dr Prank Maine and Maine Hon John baker Joe Clark leader of the opposition and It B Morrow regional chairman of the municipality of Halton Further words of lation were given by the chairman Mr McKenile Rev Russell Crossley of Dublin St United church Halt Murdoch Guelph on behalf of the neighbours and Bob Mar shall Acton on behalf of the old neighbours In Acton Family here All their family from the West Coast to the East Coast were able to be present and made this a most happy occasion for everyone They have eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren Special guest was Mrs A J Murray Acton aunt of the bride Other guests attended from Toronto Stouffville London Barrie Sault Marie Hamilton Acton Erin Milton Guelph Georgetown and St Catharines Attendants present At the parental home on May the Rev A C Stewart officiated the age of the Edna May daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh McCutcheon to John Joseph son of Mr and Mrs John Stewart Attendants who were also able to attend the reception on Sunday were maid of honor Alice Collard Stewart and junior bridesmaids Vema Smith Murray and Ruby Hansen Murray Joy and Edna are well know having lived all their lives in this district They have been very active In many aspects of community and church work through the years Junior formers They farmed at Acton for many years prior to moving to their present home IB years ago They are both charter members of the Acton Junior Farmers a club which was formed at a meeting In their home on the second line While In Acton Jay spent approximately years on the Fall Fair Board four years on Council and five years In C rising to Warden of Halton in 1954 After moving to Guelph Jay was a real estate broker became president of Royal City Realty and in 1968 was preslderit of the Guelph and District estate board Edna has been a member of the 1 0 D in each locality and also a member of Guelph General Hospital Auxiliary They are presently members of Dublin Street United Church Through the years Jay and Edna have shared many happy memories and their golden wedding anniversary just added to those memories ENJOYING A rare family reunion are J McKerracher of Church St and his five children from the left Alvin Neil Keith Jean Mr and Jack Capt Neil is home on leave from the armed forces and stopped off here on his way home to the west They haven t been all together since the 1930s Family reunion first for several decades For the first time since the 1930 Jack McKerracher had his four sons and daughter all together with him The family gathered for a happy dinner at the Mohawk Inn recently and caught up on a lot of news of the family Mr McKerracher lives In the Diplomat apartments One of his sons lives near town on No highway He is president of McKerr Tabulating in Toronto Jack the oldest son lives north west of Edmonton daughter Jean lives in Peter borough Son Neil stopped off here on his way home from where he
