it a very difficult choice as all entries were most original CHATTING with one of the many guests who stopped by the Town Hall last Saturday is Mrs Hoskmgs left id a period costume and Miss Hanna who wore a dress she wore for one of her high school commencements The Sun shine Club served refreshment to hundreds as part of Pioneer Day by Itobena Peacock Pioneer Day for the Rock wood Sunshine Club was a great success due to the united cooperation of helpers and everyone taking part and feeling proud that they were helping to celebrate Canada 110 years and some of the helpers were in period costume to help make every thing more authentic The town hall was decorated by Dave Robertson and Max Milne and everyone commented on what a wonderful job they had done to give a sense of loyalty w th the decor of red white and blue The tea tables were beautifully covered with hand made tea cloths and tastefully decorated with flowers donated by The Era mosa Flowers and then these flowers were taken to the sick in hospital the next day While folks sat and enjoyed some refreshment they were regaled with toetapping music by the Sunshine Band with Mrs Black at the piano Vic Smith on Addle Henry harmonica and Bert Dav dson taking turns w th harmonica and bass with Mrs Davidson taking a turn The penny table had a very busy time selling tickets and the bake table was laden with all kinds of homebaking which did a roaring trade Mrs Mary Milne and Anna Wilson on the takeout table were kept busy handing out and cold drinks and Miss Gladys and Mrs Hoskings in period cos were happy serving Ihe tea His mpossbletonameall the people who helped in so many different ways the lad In the kitchen washing up those sandwiches and so many more who all helped to make the afternoon in the town hall
